This numbered deck is one of a series of Italian art decks based on places in Italy by the prolific Tarot artist, Amerigo Folchi. Another deck in this series is the Tarocco Storico del Palio di Pistoia. This is a Major Arcana-only deck. The cards measure 2 3/4" X 4 9/16". The art is excellent. The card name is in the top border in Italian and English. What appears to be the name of the city or town is in the bottom border and the specific building shown is identified under the city name in Italian and English. The scenes consist of images from the Marseilles Tarot deck, placed on colorful backgrounds that include buildings from the region. Each card also has a colorful watch in the scene. The artist makes use of various patterns and textures that keep your eyes off-balance. The patterns and bright colors give the deck a whimsical flavor. Justice is VIII and Strength is XI. The backs have a row of watches and are not reversible.

Some of my favorite cards in this deck are the Chariot, which is shown atop the roof of the Church of St. Michele; Strength, where the watch holds the Tower of Pisa in place; and Death, who appears to have used his scythe to cut his way through the background of the image. Other noteworthy cards include the Lovers, the Hermit, the Tower and the Moon.

There is no little booklet for this deck. The deck is nicely packaged in a well that slides into a sleeve. The deck is from a series of 3333 decks and is numbered on the back. I think the publisher has gone out of business, but you can still order this deck form Alida. I recommend this deck for collectors and those who like Amerigo Folchi's work.
